Return to Play Guidelines
by posted 07/02/2020

As activities resume, the Peters Township Basketball Association (“PTBBA”) is committed to the health and safety of all players, coaches, parents, families and residents within our communities. These Return to Play Guidelines set forth the precautions that the PTBBA intends to undertake for the resumption of basketball activities in our Summer Programs in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.  These guidelines are based on recommendations from the CDC, the PA Department of Health, and the Peters Township Parks & Recreation Department.

Individual decisions as to whether a child should participate in any PTBBA activity is solely the decision of that child’s parents and the PTBBA respects all parents’ decisions regarding the health and safety of their children.  If anyone is not comfortable returning to play, then they should not participate.  To the extent anyone decides to participate in PTBBA activities, then, in addition to all applicable state and federal health guidelines and protocols, the PTBBA requires compliance by all involved with these guidelines for the health and safety of all of our members.

  • Each session will be limited to 30 kids maximum.
  • Sessions will be schedule with a 15-20 minute break between to allow all participants to exit from the earlier session before participants for the next session arrive.  Participants are not to arrive more than 5 minutes earlier than your scheduled time and are asked to immediately depart the court/gym area immediately after all practices and games.
  • All coaches, players, and parents must conduct a self-health assessment before attending any session.  Do not attend any session if you do not feel well, have a cough or fever, or have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

  • No post game handshakes lines.  Sportsmanship should be maintained in another manner within the confines of social distancing and these guidelines.
  • Wash hands with soap and water frequently.  All players are required to bring hand sanitizer to every session.  The sharing of hand sanitizer is prohibited.
  • Players are required to bring their own adequate supply of water to each session.  The sharing of water bottles is prohibited.
  • To the extent possible, players are encouraged to bring their own basketballs to each session.  Any basketballs that are shared will be sanitized after each session.
